HomeIt's a bit late, apologies for the bad writing. I already have another blog post in writing, can't keep piling them up.
It's possible for the good internet to exist and to experience that for yourself. I feel like I'm experiencing a personal renaissance of the internet.
For a while, I only saw the bad internet. I didn't see anything worthwhile, just content (slur). It lacked soul, it lacked substance, it was all the same. And I hated how people talked on the internet. Everything was in bad faith, and there was no nuance or grace afforded. And I didn't feel connected to anyone, I was an anonymous node observing traffic.
And I saw a lot of people who felt the same, both in real life and on the internet. So in my mind, we had lost the good internet and we needed some movement to regain it.
But I was wrong! This last month, I feel so happy. I actually read the articles now, and people write and make cool things! All the time! And I don't have time to read comment threads, I only share and talk about these things with real people. And I got this blog! And I feel like I'm actually participating in the internet. My friends are making blogs and I'm contacting article writers saying how much I like their articles and they sometimes respond and man that's so real.
So the internet is (for now) not lost. As long as we can self host, it cannot be. As long as we can reject recommendations, it cannot be.
